Hong Kong overtakes Switzerland as world’s top cross-border wealth hub on China ties

FSTB: 36 family offices established or expanded in Hong Kong in the first four months of 2026

The Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau (FSTB) stated that 36 family offices have established or expanded their operations in Hong Kong in the first four months of this year, with approximately 160 more actively considering developing in Hong Kong — among them about 30 from Europe. The FSTB reiterated its goal of assisting at least 220 family offices in establishing or expanding their businesses in Hong Kong between 2026 and 2028.
