State of AI Visibility 2026
The State of AI Visibility is Visora's original research report measuring how often AI answer engines recommend real businesses — built from actual multi-engine scan data, not surveys or estimates. It is the first industry report of its kind for Hong Kong and Asian brands.
Key findings at a glance
- >60% — of scanned Hong Kong businesses ranking on Google Page 1 are entirely ignored by AI search engines for the same queries
- 8 — AI engines scanned live per audit — ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Doubao, DeepSeek, Qwen
- 7 — weighted metrics in the AI Visibility Index — Recall, Breadth, Depth, Keyword Reach, Convergence, Factuality, Rank
- 0–100 — AIV score scale, banded Invisible (0–30), Emerging (31–55), Established (56–75), Authoritative (76–100)
What does the data show?
The headline finding from our Hong Kong scan data: over 60% of businesses that rank on Page 1 of Google are entirely ignored by AI search engines for the same queries. Ranking well in traditional search no longer guarantees that ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity will recommend you — the two channels reward different signals.
What does the report measure?
- How often AI engines mention and recommend real brands across categories
- Which sources AI engines cite when they make local recommendations
- How visibility splits across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Doubao, DeepSeek, and Qwen
- What the highest-scoring businesses have in common (structured data, entity consistency, trust signals)
How is it measured?
Every figure comes from live engine queries using generic discovery questions — never brand-name queries that guarantee a mention. The full scoring model is public: read the AVI methodology.
